Tasting Notes
This 100% Pommard clone Pinot is bright with plum, earthy undertones, black cherry compote, wild blueberries, Morello cherries, wild sage, and fragrant earth. Focused from start to the medium-long finish.
Vineyard Notes
Tumwater consists of 26 acres of planted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Planted in 2015 & 2017 with various clones suited for our vineyard’s microclimate. Soils are Jory, Nekia & Saum. Warm days cooled off by the near by Willamette River.
Production Notes
Post-bud-break, a cold front brought record-low temperatures and
frost into the Willamette Valley, leaving many to wonder if there
would be any crop to harvest in Fall. May and June followed with
unusually cool temperatures, furthering the worry of low yields or a
complete loss. July through September was surprisingly warm and
helped get the growing season back on track. Ideal conditions
continued into October, allowing the fruit extra weeks of hangtime
not typically seen in recent vintages.
